On the front page of the New York Times website this morning was a banner ad that I just had to click: "Don't Give Up on Vista", it said. Could Microsoft actually have resorted to begging?
Of course not. Clicking on the ad sends you straight to Apple's site for Mac OS X Leopard Guided Tour.
I think this is the funniest banner ad I have seen in a long time. Go Apple!
Mac is such a monopolist. The same company sells you the hardware, the devices, the OS, the software, and the content. And of course, all the pieces of their empire work better with their own offerings than with anybody else's. Thanks, but I'll stick with Microsoft -- at least they're marginally more open.

Sam, are you kidding?! You'll recall that not that long ago Microsoft actually had to go in front of a judge and explain why they're not a monopoly, and there are whole countries that won't do business with them because of their doesn't-play-well-with-others nature.
If Apple had a 90% PC market share and the iPod didn't work with your PC you might have a point: but they don't, and it does.

P. S. Windows XP runs just fine on my MacBook Pro.
